This short documentary looks at the struggle of one woman, Maisy’s mom, to bring attention to the disappearances.

A new maternal blood test from Stanford University is a less risky way to test for fetal abnormalities. Wide-spread prevalence of the test would make expecting parents aware of health factors affecting the fetus. Advocates for people with Down syndrome are worried that the easier test method will not be paired with balanced information on the realities of raising a child with Down syndrome.
